R&B star R Kelly sentenced to 30 years in prison for sex trafficking

Federal Judge Ann Donnelly in New York sentenced R. Kelly, saying that "this case is not about sex," "it's about violence, cruelty, and control."

In the defense of R Kelly before Judge Donnelly, some points were told that he had a very difficult childhood and the judge agreed.

But Judge Donnelly said - "You are a man who had many advantages - worldwide fame and celebrity, untold money."

Kelly himself declined to speak in court at the hearing, and his lawyer cited a second case that would take place on August 15.

The jury found that Kelly forcibly recruited girls, boys and women for sex and was also the head of all these cases.

Kelly has been indicted last year for sexual abuse of a child, bribery, racketeering and sex trafficking, among many other counts.

Seven women gave statements against Kelly in front of the judge about how they were abused and victimized, Kelly did not even look at her once upon this incident.

Kelly's lawyer said that the 30-year sentence has become like a life sentence for him, it is clear that Kelly is devastated and we are ready to fight this appeal.

In addition, Judge Donnelly sentenced Kelly to 30 years in prison with a $100,000 fine and a statutory $40,000 human trafficking fine.
