HBO also picked well-known actors for the adult roles in the series, making it even more exciting. John Lithgow, who won awards for TV shows, will play Albus Dumbledore. Janet McTeer will be Minerva McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu will play Severus Snape, though some fans aren’t happy about that.
Nick Frost will be the friendly Hagrid, Luke Thallon will play Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse will be Filch. These actors, announced on April 14, 2025, have done big projects like Conclave and Ozark.
