Overview

There are seven episodes, each almost 50–55 minutes long. So roughly 6½ hours of content. And I must tell you right away: this season does not end with the mission wrapped up. There’s an open ending.

Comparison Between Season 3, 2 & 1

If you compare it with the last two seasons, the climax doesn’t give the same satisfaction—it doesn’t tie everything neatly like before. But overall, if you just look at the season as a whole, yes, it delivers.

Plot Highlights

  • Last season had a credit scene hinting at drug-dealing and the North-East, with a mention of “Project GONE YOU”.
  • In this season, the mission is now in the North-East.
  • The main lead, Tiwari, is hit by a seismic shift: he himself becomes the suspect. The man who used to chase the world, now the world is chasing him.
  • His family gets compromised. Everyone knows Tiwari is a spy agent. Now the question: how will our “family man” handle the North-East mission? Will he get his family out of trouble? What is the actual threat? You’ll only know after you watch.
  • What I observed: the makers went to a more grand level compared to earlier seasons — in terms of locations, cast, thrills, and even the lengths of episodes.
  • Yes, the episodes feel longer this time. I’m not saying they’re unnecessary, but somehow I felt slightly disconnected this time around.

Starcast Performances & Direction

  • I praise every actor in the season. The direction by Raj & DK and the cinematography are strong.
  • The dialogues in this season—many lines will instantly become memes online.
  • The series continues the blend of politics, spy drama, terrorism, and family drama. Each character has a distinct angle.
  • And Tiwari? Forget it. The main villain (played by Jaideep Ahlawat) also has a character shade similar to Tiwari’s. Two different lives, same kind of tension. They played the “kick-ass character” big time.
  • I must say: I think the reason they left the season without a proper ending is that they’re setting up something major.

Series Episode Pacing

  • The sixth episode is literally the biggest highlight of the whole season — you’ll know when you watch.
  • The series has time to show things in detail, maybe more than before. But here’s the catch: sometimes the excess detail makes you feel “okay, get to the point”.
  • Yet, the banter between Tiwari and JK (his colleague) keeps you entertained. There are many funny moments, which are nicely added.
  • Towards the end, there are twists — some very unexpected, some very predictable.

Verdict

  • So, is this season good? Yes.
  • Compared to the first two seasons? Slightly lower.
  • Maybe the upcoming fourth season will pull everything together, bring something fresh and big, and give a proper conclusion.
  • Variety? It’s there.
  • One caveat: there is a lot of abusive language. So even though it’s called The Family Man, if you’re thinking “family-friendly viewing with the whole family”, think twice.
  • Overall: It’s not the best from The Family Man series. It’s not the lowest either. It’s somewhere in the middle. But still — a good watch.
